Reva Blakley, age 93, of Loyall, KY, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 10, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 24, 1919 in Knox Co., KY to the late William “Bill” and Dora Brooks Anderkin. She worked as a cook at Ages Elementary School. She had also worked at the Harlan Daily Enterprise as a proofreader. She worked at the Daniel Boone Clinic as a nurse’s aide for Dr. Stepchuck and Dr. Stoltzfus where she retired around 1986. She was a member of the Coxton and Ages Baptist Churches and was a volunteer for many community and church functions.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Blakley; brothers Renus, Elmer, and Shelby Anderkin, and sisters, Viola Trammel, Dolly Eades, Odessa “Tootsie” McConnell.

Left to mourn her passing, she is survived by her children: Glen Blakley and wife, Catherine, of St. George, UT, Janice Boyle and husband, Tom, of Bloomfield, CT, Kathie Jones and husband, Rick, of Loyall, KY, grandchildren: Christopher Blakley, Sharon Warren, Diana Zu, and Katrina Blakley all of Utah, Joseph Jones and Charlene Drew of Loyall, KY, Jeremy Jones and Amanda Jones of Bledsoe, KY, a brother, Billy Ray Anderkin and wife, Emma, of Dayton, OH; sisters: Maxine Shelton of Big Stone Gap, VA, Betty Hubbs and husband, Graddie, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Faye Greer of Detroit, MI, Geneva Bergman of Harlan, KY, and Nell Roark and husband, Virgil, of New Lebanon, OH, and a very special friend, Jane Jack Whitfield, of Raleigh, NC.

Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5 to 7PM at the Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with the funeral immediately following at 7PM in the Chapel of Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. John Luttrell officiating. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 1PM at the Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
