Guy Howard, 87, of Loyall passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. He was born on November 14, 1925 in Baxter, KY. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in WWII.

Guy was a ordained Baptist minister, a Kentucky Colonel and worked as a security guard for the Harlan County Board of Education he also was retired salesman for Flav-O-Rich and a past Master and former member of the Loyall Masonic Lodge #930 and Howard Masonic Lodge #819 F. &. A.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Howard and Minnie Harris Howard; and one grandson, Russell Howard.

Guy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beatrice Willis Howard, Loyall; two sons, Lanny R. Howard, Loyall and Phillip Howard and wife Kay, Loyall; two brothers, Fred Lee Howard and wife Elizabeth, Mebane, NC; and William Boone Howard, Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Geraldine Stewart, London, KY; Betty Jean Mitchell and husband, Vernon, London and Madaris Cockron, Seymary, IN.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Josh Howard, Lexington and Carla Torres and husband, Francisco, Boca Raton, FL; one great-grandson, Christopher Hayden Torres; three special friends, Leon Marcum, Joe Middleton and Treva Muncy.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home, funeral service at 7 p.m. with Reverend Larry White officiating.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Harlan County Memorial Gardens, Freshmeadows, KY; with Military Rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be the Harlan Honor Guard.
