Kenneth G. Goins of Cumberland, KY passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the age of 74 years. He was born December 30, 1938 to the late Ruby McCliney and Charles Goins at Totz, KY. He worked 32 years for Blue Diamond Coal Company at the Scotia mines. Ken served in the United States Army and Navy and was a Kentucky Colonel, of which he was very proud.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Hershel and Herbert Goins.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Beulah “Boots” Goins of Cumberland; children, Theresa (Greg) Boggs of Ashland, KY and Michael (Beth) Goins of Georgetown, KY; brothers, Charles (Beverly) Goins of Tulsa, OK, Vernon Goins of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Michael Glen (Sharon) Goins of Bloomfield, KY; sisters, Janice Goins of Lexington, KY, Brenda McCauley of Ludlow, KY and Eleesa Goins of Elizabethtown, KY; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Devin Boggs and Meghan and Madeline Goins; and a host of family and friends who will miss him.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Saturday, February 16, 2013, between the hours of 6 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013, in the chapel at 12:30 pm with the Reverend Kenny Salmons and Reverend Dennis Williams officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Carter Cemetery in East Bernstadt, KY with military rites at the graveside.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
