Michael Ray “Bubba” Helton, 53, of Cotes passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at his home following a long illness. Born October 30, 1959 in Chicago to the late Mary Cornett Helton and John Helton, he had lived here most of his life. He spent 32 years as a butcher before retiring from Don’s Super Saver after 20 years of service.

Survivors include two children, Michael Ray Helton, Jr. of Gray, KY; Amy Rivers and husband, Mike, of Columbus, OH; a sister, Debbie Carver and husband, Freddie, Cotes; three grandchildren, Michael Trey Helton, Michaela Rivers and Madison Rivers; a niece, Tiffany Carver; a nephew, Jason Carver and wife, Brittany; a great-niece, Lillie Carver; and his special friend, Amy Gross.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013, from 5 until 8 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Hobert Cornett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cotes Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
