Alta Turner, 58, of Gordon, KY passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her home.

She was a native of Letcher County, and believed in the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Lue and Fanny Cornett Back; three brothers; Burchess, Rodney, Benny, and Jerry Back; a sister Mary Back.

Survivors include her husband, John Turner of Gordon, four children Misty Joseph and boyfriend Jody Smith of Gordon, Margaret Hunt and husband Jimmy of Lafollette, TN; Timothy Cox and fiancée Heather Brown of Jonesboro Arkansas, and Kyle Cox of Gordon, three brothers, James, Noah, and Roger Back; two sisters, Carolyn Gedemer, and Sharron Morris; six grandchildren, Tyler Hammonds, Whitney Joseph, Glenn Joseph, Josh Turner, Dakota Turner, and Paige Hunt.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Hurricane Gap Old Regular Baptist Church after 5 pm; Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 12 noon at the church with Charles Shepherd officiating. Following the funeral service burial will be held at the Back Family Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
