Dorothy Franklyn Carmical, 68, of Harlan, ended her long battle with cancer and entered into the joys of Heaven on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Dorothy was born in Harlan and had lived here most of her life. She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always willing to help those in need. Dorothy was a devoted Christian and truly a light to everyone she came in contact with.

She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Fox; her mother, Lou Johnson; a twin brother, Frank Fox and wife Susie; and three sisters, Patricia Stewart, Wanda Sizemore and Lillie Sizemore.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Richard C. Carmical, Sr.; three loving children, Richard C. Carmical, Jr. and wife Patty Honeycutt Carmical, of Loyall; Vincent Carmical and wife Jennifer Ann Crum Carmical, of Harlan; Tammy D. Reynolds and husband Craig Reynolds, of Worth, IL; one sister, Virginia Sizemore of Harlan; one brother, Johnny Bolts and wife Lois, of Arkansas; four grandchildren, Chase Vincent Alexander Carmical, Jacob Connor Reynolds, Megan Leighann Stewart, and Skyler Stewart; several special sisters-in-law, including Judy Carmical and Lana Carmical; a host of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Paul Stewart; and special friends, Peggy Major and Betty Honeycutt.

Visitation for Dorothy will be Friday from 5 – 8 pm at Harlan Funeral Home and Saturday from 11 am until 2 pm at the Coldiron Church of God-Mountain Assembly.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Coldiron Church of God-Mountain Assembly with the Reverend Jack Carmical officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
