Harlan County senior Sarah Evans has been selected to represent the 13th Region against the 12th Region in the senior all-star game at Asbury University on Saturday.
“Sarah has been a strong presence in the region for a while. I think it was an easy selection from my point of view,” said Harlan County coach Anthony Nolan.
Evans started for three season at Harlan County. She averaged 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a senior, while helping to lead the Lady Bears to the 13th Region semifinals. Evans was also named to the all-13th Region second team recently.
“Sarah has been a very consistent player offensively, defensively and with her rebounding,” Nolan said. “She has provided a lot of leadership. She always had a great attitude, and has been a positive influence on the other kids. She makes the other kids around her better.”
Evans and the senior all-stars will take the floor at 2:30 p.m. The junior all-star game will tip things off at 1 p.m.
