Fannie Lee Middleton, age 61, of Harlan, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, following a long illness. Born on February 27, 1951, to Carrie and Victor Smith, Fannie was a lifelong resident of Harlan County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Living God at Jones’ Creek.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Sam Victor Mills and two brothers, Donnie Smith and John Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Middleton, of Harlan; two sisters, Cathy Smith and Loretta Smith, both of Harlan; her brother, Dave Smith of Evarts; and six grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, Alex, Jeremiah, Sam, and Danielle.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, (Feb. 22) in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (Feb. 23) at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Kirby and Reverend Joe Howard officiating.

Burial will be in the Evarts Memorial Gardens, Evarts, KY.
