The Knox Central Panthers snapped a three-game losing skid with a 78-55 victory over visiting Harlan in 13th Region action on Monday.
The Green Dragons trailed by just six after the first quarter, but the Panthers took control in the second. Knox Central outscored Harlan by nine in the period to take a 44-29 lead into the half.
The Panthers maintained the lead in the third quarter as each team recorded 15 points.
Harlan was unable to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter as Knox pulled away for the win. The Panthers outscored Harlan 19-11 in the final period.
Sophomore Isaiah Johnson paced the Green Dragons with 12 points.
Jeffrey Adams led the Panthers with 21 points. Center Tobie Merida recorded 17 points, while point guard Matthew Barger added 16 points.
Harlan (9-17) closes out the regular season Friday at home against Corbin in a boys/girls double-header. Knox Central (14-12) will travel to North Laurel on Friday.
