Bobby Joe Turner, 80 of Big Laurel, was born on December 23, 1932 at Big Laurel and died on February 7, 2013 at his home in Big Laurel with his family by his side. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle Sizemore Turner.

He is survived by: his wife, Maxine Turner; his children, Deborah and husband, Ernie Smith of Big Laurel, Billy Joe and wife, Sandy Turner of Bledsoe, Judy and husband, Larry Lewis of Big Laurel, Melissa and husband, Jeffery North of Big Laurel, Ricky Lee and wife, Tina Turner of Big Laurel, Timothy and wife, Cathy Turner of Big Laurel. Two brothers, Ralph and wife, Sophie Turner of Big Laurel and Buster and wife, Etta Turner of Lexington, KY. Thirteen grandchildren, Michael Cornett, Bobby Cornett, Christie Turner, Billy Turner, Blake Turner, Wesley Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Leanne Turner, Tim Turner, Michelle Turner and Sabrina Turner. Five step-grandchildren, Stacy Creech, Aaron Leath, Deanna Leath, Britney Pennington, Chase Pennington and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 1 o’clock in the Chapel of Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Turner Family Cemetery at Big Laurel with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 6-8 at Rich Funeral Home.
