Donald Posey, Sr., 65, of River Ridge passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born April 12, 1947 in Alabama, he had lived here since he was a teenager. Donald was a former coal miner and believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Kaye Redwine Posey; his parents, Alvie Posey and Maggie Benson Posey; and two brothers, Ron Posey and Luther Posey.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Posey, Jr. and Jeffery Posey, both of River Ridge; three sisters, Lorene Seabolt and husband, Olin, Virginia; Helen Posey, Virginia; Vada Posey, London, KY; three brothers, James Posey and wife, Fairy, Alabama; Howard Posey, Alabama; Woodrow Posey and wife, Jewel, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Selena Posey and Deloris Posey; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
