Gary Thomas, age 61 of Baxter, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 10, 2012 after a brief Illness. Gary was a Loving husband and father. He was a disable Coal Miner and a wonderful child of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Jr. and Gaynele Thompson Thomas.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Thomas of Baxter, KY. 1 daughter, Misty Brooks and husband Timothy of Mobile, Alabama , 2 grandchildren, Faith and Isaac of Mobile, Alabama. Threes sister, Sherry Patterson of Cleveland ,TN, Pamela Hostutller and husband David of Baxter, KY, Shelia Garrett and Dale Soublo of Baxter, KY. Brother, Allen Thomas of Winfield , TN. In laws, Orville and Barbara Shepherd of Harlan , KY. Sister in law, Patty Lane and husband Don of Neff, KY. Brother in laws, Henry Shepherd and Derek Trosper both of Harlan, Ky. Three uncles, Tommy Thompson of Lexington, KY, Jack Thompson of Elcomb, KY, and Johnny Thompson of GA. 1 aunt Peggy Dean of TN. Special friend, Matt Hensley of Noblesville, In. Numerous of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 13, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral home with the Rev.’s Larry Duff and Lonnie Napier officiating. Graveside service’s will be conduct on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven cemetery in Keith, Ky. Family and friends will serving as pallbearers.
