Geraldine “Geri” Tippett, age 69, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born February 06, 1943 to the late Buick and Carrie Halcomb Hall in Benham. She owned and operated Geri’s Beauty Shop for 33 years and believed in the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Donnie Tippett II.

She leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Don Tippett, of Cumberland; two sons, Ernest Moore and Vickie of Evarts and Ricky Moore and Stacey of Putney; two daughters, Tonya Daugherty and David of Lancester and Cherie Tippett of Cumberland; brother, Denny Hall and Karen Joyce of Cumberland; grandchildren, Ernest Moore II, Kaitlin Moore, Mariah Moore Edens, Christian Daugherty, Hannah Daugherty, Hezekia Daugherty, Chasta Tippett, Cerra Tippett, and Jessica Tippett; great grandchild, Cheyenne Tippett; special friends, Kelly Maggard, Lacey Allen, and Twila Adams; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 4 – 6 pm. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 6 pm at the church with the Reverend Dennis Williams and Reverend Glen Daugherty officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 11 am in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram.

Family and Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
