A bridge connecting Sunshine Road, Industrial Park Road and U.S. 421 in Harlan is expected to be re-opened by June 30. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 11 Public Information Officer Jonathan Dobson said if the weather continues to be good, the bridge may re-open “a day or two” earlier. The KY 3459 bridge replacement project cost $1.1 million. Work began on Feb. 8. Dobson said, “We appreciate the patience of the community as they dealt with the temporary inconvenience imposed by the detour.”
