The Cumberland Redskins picked up a pair if wins in middle school baseball action recently.
The Redskins edged host Letcher Central on Monday.
Cameron Nease had three singles to pace Cumberland at the plate. Caleb Hogue, Brendan Rutherford and Aaron Lewis each added a double.
Nease recorded three strikeouts in 5.2 innings to secure the win in the start.
In previously unreported action, the Redskins downed New Harlan 9-3 on Friday.
Hunter Nease struck out four batters in 3.1 innings to claim the win on the mound.
Sherman Ward recorded eight strikeouts in a complete-game effort for New Harlan.
Brennan Gilliam had a pair of singles to lead Cumberland offensively. Hogue and Hunter Nease each added a double, while Rutherford and Jordan Dixon each contributed a single.
The local middle school teams will return to action on May 4 and 5 in the county tournament at New Harlan.
