District court cases

The following cases have been heard in Harlan District Court, Judge Jeff Brock presiding.

Pearl A. Cress, 44, first-offense driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs — continued for jury trial June 17.

William K. Wiggins, 35, first-offense driving under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), no tail lights, expired or no registration plate — first charge, amended to alcohol intoxication; second charge, amended to failure to produce insurance card, pleaded guilty, fined $125; other charges dismissed.

Jason B. Hill, 32, violation of Kentucky E.P.O./ D.V.O. — continued for jury trial Sept. 2.

Dean A. Cope, 39, disregarding stop sign, expired or no registration plate, failure to produce insurance card — continued for arraignment.

Jimmy Woodsby, 40, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, operating vehicle with expired operator’s license, failure to wear seat belt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) — continued for arraignment.

Ricky King, 29, speeding (16 miles per hour over the limit), license to be in possession, failure to produce insurance card, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance (first offense) — continued for arraignment July 11.

Johnny J. Wynn, 18, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to produce insurance card — first three charges, dismissed; other charge, pleaded guilty, fined $153.

Kristi L. Turner, 32, improper equipment, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), license to be in possession, license plate not legible, failure to wear seat belt, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, failure to produce insurance card — first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $25 (court costs waived); other charges dismissed on warning and proof.

Michael A. Lankford, 24, speeding (26 or more miles per hour over the limit), reckless driving, failure to notify address change to the transportation department — continued for arraignment.
