He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Alice Hazen; his four children: Andrea (Randy) Donaldson, Samuel (Glenna) Hazen, Stephanie Hazen Skaff, all of Nashville, TN, and Alicia (Michael) Jordan of Lexington and also eight loving grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Nick (Barbara) Hazen, sister Rose (George) Haddad and sister-in-law Ruth Hazen, as well as several nieces and nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hazen. He is a retired businessman and a member of Cumberland Baptist Church. He is a US Air Force veteran of WWII, a 60 year member of Masonic Lodge, former Mayor of Cumberland and Neon, KY, 5th Congressional Rep for Senator Walter Dee Huddleston, former Chairman of the Board for the Cumberland Valley Area Development District, former President of the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southeast Community College and current board member of the KY Mine Museum.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Day & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Day & Jones Funeral Home, E. Main St, Cumberland, KY.
