Ronnie Short, 52, Closplint, died Dec. 5, 2006, at his residence.

A native of Closplint, Short had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Evarts High School and had been a coal miner at several area mines. He believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milford Short.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Peggy Ann Short, Closplint; his mother, Wilma Lewis Short, Morristown, Tenn.; two sons: Michael Short and wife, Nancy, Closplint; and Mitchell Short, Closplint, and his fiance, Judel Clark, Holmes Mill; a sister, Diana Shepherd Gibbons and husband, Kenneth, Morristown, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Michaela Short, Closplint; a stepgranddaughter, Chyna Caudill, Closplint; a great-granddaughter, Allisa Caudill, Closplint; his mother-in-law, Wilma Peace Short, Closplint; his sister-in-law, Barbara Perkins, Cawood; two nieces: Ashley Perkins; and Elizabeth Ann Fagan and husband, Tim; a nephew, William Patrick Shepherd and wife, Marcie; and special friends: Roy Blair, Jerry Blair and Butch Kelly.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Blair officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
