Gladys Etta Saylor, 93, Molus, died Aug. 4, 2006, at Harlan ARH Hospital following a long illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Harlan County, Saylor was a loving mother, granny and friend to each life she touched.

A lifelong prayer warrior, she believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Liberty Pentecostal Church at Molus.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Berry Howard; her second husband, Berry Saylor; her parents, Byrd and Clora Brock Saylor; one son, Ray B. Howard; three sisters: Mable Saylor, Edna Saylor and Irene Saylor; three brothers: Claude Saylor, John M. Saylor and Byrd Saylor Jr.; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Paris B. Howard and wife, Helen, Molus; one brother, Lee Roy Saylor and wife, Ann, Mount Olive; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday at Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Freeman Clark and the Rev. David Howard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Coldiron Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
