Thomas David Pruitt III, 48, Waynesville, died Dec. 18, 2005, at his residence.

A native of Harlan, he had a degree in engineering and established Pruitt & Purcell Engineering in Brunswick. He was the managing engineer in the Brunswick office of the EMC Company of Savannah.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Hale Pruitt; his children: Abby Pruitt and Harlan Pruitt, both of Waynesville; two stepsons, Jay Jones, Waynesville; and Austin Lipthratt, Brunswick; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Pruitt, Harlan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Glenda Hale, Brunswick; three sisters: Gail Hall and husband, Davey, Tucker, Ga.; Laura Bostrom and husband, Rob, Versailles; and Mary Walter and husband, Otto, Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters-in-laws: Dina Cutforth and her husband, Charles, Brunswick; and Debra Hale, Brunswick; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Will Mayhue officiating.

No burial was held.

Honorary pallbearers were Roger Ditmer, Emie Johns, Kip Goodbread, Steve Stan, Joe Nemetz, Greg Lee, Scott Sullivan and Buster Reese.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Thomas Pruitt Fund, c/o Oglethorpe Bank of Brunswick.

Chapman Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
