Charles "Chuck" Hensley Sr., 71, Wallins, died Aug. 18, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.

A native of Harlan County, He was owner and operator of Hensley Grocery and Furniture. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a U.S. Air Force veteran, an honorary coal miner, a former constable and Wallins town marshall and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Hensley and Virgie Hensley; one daughter, Angel Michelle Hensley Wynn; a daughter-in-law; Shannon Hensley; a son-in-law, Ronnie Wynn; and one brother, Bobby Hensley.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta C. Maiden Hensley, Wallins; five children: Gary Hensley, Wallins; Shelia Hensley Adams, Ind.; Lisa Hensley Isaac and husband, Jimmy, Louisville; Charles E. Hensley Jr., Wallins; and Ronnie Osborne and wife, Gail, Dayhoit; two brothers: Ron Hensley and wife, Penny, Ind.; and Don Lee Hensley and wife, Karen, Harrogate, Tenn.; nine grandchildren: Aaron Hensley, Lisa Ann Campbell, Jimmy Ray Isaac, Dylan Joel Isaac, Tyler Hensley, Cody Shoope, Angel Hensley Wynn, Amy Osborne and Lori Osborne; two great-grandchildren: Desire Campbell and Alexis Campbell; and a special cousin, Ralph Felosi and wife, Carolyn.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church.

Funeral services be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Ed Houston officiating.

Burial will be at the Park Howard Cemetery with military rites being performed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Felosi, Randy Dixon, Paul Haywood, Will Brock Jimmy Isaac and Brandon Hensley.

Bill Acre and Bill North will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
