Mabel Evans Kilgore, 93, Frankfort, formerly of Evarts, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A native of Virginia, she had lived in Evarts for 60 years. She worked as a secretary for Dayton Tool and Die Company and was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Frankfort.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kilgore; her parents, Lena Hale Evans and Dan Evans; one sister, Myrtle Evans; and three brothers: Roy Evans, Bud Evans and Winford Evans.

Survivors include three sisters: Thelma Crider, Evarts; Jean Barthel, Ohio; and Helen Griffith, Evarts; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Rev. John Luttrell and the Rev. Mike Barthel officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
