He was employed by Macks Supermarket in Evarts for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Moreland Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Charlsie Brock Mills, Evarts; three children: Linda Joyce Thomas and husband, Wendell, Scottsburg, Ind.; Samuel Edward Mills Jr., and wife, Tommy, Evarts; and Virginia Ann Skidmore and husband, Bill, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one sister, Edith Frazier, Dayton, Ohio; and seven grandchildren: Jessie Thomas, Sammie Jo Thomas, Ethan Thomas, Ryan Graff, Joshua Skidmore, Megan Skidmore and Shane Skidmore; and two great-grandchildren: Shelby Thomas and Jerika Thomas.
Visitation is Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rich Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jessie Thomas, Joshua Skidmore, Charlie Ramsey, Terry Ramsey, Rodney Ramsey and Ralph Cox.
