Francis Jarvis King, 101, Lynch, died June 1, 2003, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A native of Alabama, King was a member of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Lynch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Turner and Amanda Chenault Jarvis.

Survivors include his brother, Bob Jarvis, Detroit; a sister, Viola Wasson, Akron, Ohio; an adopted grandson, Jerry Edwards, Lynch; an adopted granddaughter, Marcia Moran; five nieces: Mary Johnson and husband, Herbert, Akron, Ohio; Bobbie Jean Davis, Delores Moss, and Harriet Stevens, all of Detroit; and Willa Harrison, Cincinnati; a great-niece, Cynthia Brown and husband, David, Akron, Ohio; and a great-nephew, Herbert Johnson and wife, Cheryl, Greenville, S.C.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Ronnie Hampton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland.

Pallbearers will include Benny Massey, George Massey, Fred Massey, Joe Allen, Willie Enix and Dean Darnell.

Honorary pallbearers will include the deacons of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church.

Tri-City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
