Lady Bears stay hot with win over Claiborne

Harlan County continued its string of double-digit offensive performances by defeating Claiborne, Tenn., 10-5 on Tuesday in Tazewell, Tenn.

Sophomore first baseman Kacie Russell drove in three runs with a double and two singles. Destinee Jenkins drove in two runs as she collected three singles. Nikki Creech added three singles. Tia King and Farren Clark had two singles each. Haley Blakley, Jessie Johnson and Kate Evans each contributed one single.

Harlan County’s games schedule Thursday at Letcher Central and Friday at home against Perry Central were postponed. The Lady Bears moved the Letcher Central game to Saturday at noon at HCHS. The Harlan County baseball team will play J.I. Burton on Saturday at 1 p.m. at home.
