Wallins stays perfect with win over Skins

Wallins moved within one win of an undefeated regular season by rolling past visiting Cumberland 58-12 on Monday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Taylor Spurlock scored 15 to lead the Devils. Elisha Smallwood and Devin Eldridge added 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Carl Pacholewski led the Devils to a 44-28 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action as he scored 18 points.

Jaiden Gist paced the Redskins with eight points.

Wallins closes its regular-season schedule Tuesday at Black Mountain. Cumberland returns to action in the county tournament.

Boggs leads Wildcats in victory over JACES

Christian Boggs scored 15 points to lead Evarts as the Wildcats edged visiting James A. Cawood 38-34 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Monday.

Jerry Elliott led JACES with 11 points.

Zach Potter poured in 20 points and Jayden Burkhart added 16 as Evarts nipped the Trojans 40-37 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Tristan Cooper scored 20 to lead JACES.

Hunter Helton and Matt Brown each scored 15 points and Tanner Jordan added 10 as Rosspoint edged visiting Cawood 56-53 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Monday.

James Smith poured in 35 points to lead the Comets. Jacob Engle added 12 points.

Thomas Jordan scored 14 points to lead Rosspoint to a 35-28 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Austin Johnson led Cawood with 12 points.
