Crider scores 11 as JACES edges Skins

Chase Crider scored 11 points and Jay Harris added nine as James A. Cawood edged Cumberland 38-37 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Dakota Shepherd scored 17 points and Josh Swanner added 15 to lead the Redskins.

Cumberland (10-0) stayed unbeaten in fifth- and sixth-grade action with a 40-22 win. Jordan Akal and Jaeden Gist scored 16 and 13 points, respectively, to lead the Redskins.

Tristan Cooper paced the Trojans with eight points.

Cumberland plays host to Rosspoint on Thursday. James A. Cawood is at home against Evarts on Thursday.

Smallwood powers Devils to win over Black Mountain

Elisha Smallwood scored 16 points to lead Wallins over Black Mountain 44-31 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Demarco Hopkins led Black Mountain with 11 points.

Wallins won 34-33 in double overtime in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Carl Pacholewski scored 14 to pace the Devils.

Jayden Ward led Black Mountain with 12 points.

Wallins plays at Cawood on Thursday. Black Mountain travels to Cawood on Tuesday.

Helton, Brown team for 23 as Cats defeat Green Hills

Led by Hunter Helton with 12 points and Matt Brown with 11, Rosspoint defeated Green Hills 55-40 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Dylan Gross scored 11 and Caleb Ashley added 10 to lead Green Hills.

Thomas Jordan scored 12 points as Rosspoint won 32-15 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Andrew Hensley led the Falcons with eight points.

Rosspoint travels to Cumberland on Thursday. Green Hills plays at Evarts on Monday.
