The championship matchup everyone has expected since the opening night of the season will become a reality Tuesday at James A. Cawood Elementary School as Wallins takes on Rosspoint.
Both teams rolled into the finals with convincing victories Monday in the semifinals as Wallins rolled past Evarts 50-20 and Rosspoint downed Cawood 38-22.
Hannah Wood scored 13 points and Morgan Blakley added 12 to lead the 19-0 Lady Devils.
Wood scored seven points in the opening quarter as Wallins grabbed an early 18-4 lead. The margin grew to 34-11 by halftime as Blakley and Wood each scored four points.
Jacey Lewis and Emily Long each scored 11 points as Rosspoint (14-3) overcame a slow start in the nightcap.
Amber Irvin led Cawood with nine points.
Dixie Ewing had a 3-pointer and a basket in the opening quarter as Rosspoint took a 9-5 lead. Madison Cole had all five points for Cawood to keep the game close.
The lead was extended to 18-10 at halftime and Hailey Gaw scored five points to lead Rosspoint in the second quarter.
Long had four points as Rosspoint outscored Cawood 9-2 in the third quarter to go up 27-12.
Irvin scored six in the fourth to lead a late comeback but it wasn’t nearly enough as Rosspoint pulled away by hitting seven of 10 at the free throw line
Cawood will play Rosspoint on Tuesday at 5:30 for third place. Wallins and Rosspoint will play in the championship game at 7 p.m.
