Two days after being shut out at Clay County, the Harlan County Black Bears’ offensive woes continued at Knox Central. Harlan County was limited to three hits in a 7-1 loss Monday to the Panthers.
Jacob Collins gave up three hits over six innings, striking out five, to earn the victory on the mound.
Caleb Carmical, a junior right-hander, suffered the loss as he gave up seven runs on seven hits in three-plus innings. Cameron Nease allowed only one hit over three innings of relief.
Justin Brown had a double and scored the only HCHS run. Devon Rodrigues and Carmical added one single each.
Bevin Campbell led the Knox Central offense with a home run and single.
The 6-8 Bears travel to Middlesboro on Thursday.
