The honors for the first baby born in Harlan County in 2013 go to Travis Jack Wayne Smith, who was born at the Harlan ARH Hospital on Jan. 3. Weighing 5 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches long, Travis was delivered by Dr. Lanny Hadley at 1:32 p.m. Mother Briana Smith, 17, of Evarts, said Travis has a 14-month-old sister, Jayden Elizabeth, waiting at home. Not pictured was father Robert Smith.
