A Lynch man who was involved in a shooting incident with police Friday is out of the hospital and back in Harlan.
Michael Blair, 49, was arrested by Kentucky State Police on Friday but was admitted to Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn., for treatment.
According to Lynch Police Chief Mike Nunley, Blair has been transported back to Harlan.
“It’s my understanding that Blair was released from the hospital and picked up by Kingsport police on warrants that the Kentucky State Police have obtained,” said Nunley. “It’s also my understanding that he waived extradition and was transported to the Harlan County Detention Center.”
Blair was shot multiple times after police responded to a domestic disturbance call in Lynch. Previous reports state Blair pointed a shotgun at an officer. The officer then discharged his service weapon, hitting Blair several times. Blair was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police who arrived on the scene shortly after the incident. Blair was then transported by ambulance to Harlan ARH Hospital and later flown to Holston Valley.
Blair was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center by KSP Trooper Kevin Miller on a charge of attempted murder of a police officer. The bond is $50,000 full cash.
Nunley said the police officer, Drew Wilson, has been on administrative leave since the shooting incident. Nunley said Wilson will be returning to work next week.

* Wallace Saylor, 40, of Coldiron, was arrested Monday by Kentucky State Police Trooper Josh Howard on charges of second-degree criminal trespassing and theft by unlawful taking. According to the arrest warrant, Matt Miles stated that on March 3, Saylor unlawfully entered the fenced in property owned by Alpha natural Resources and took mining cable from the property knowing that the cable belonged to Alpha Natural Resources.
Saylor was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $7,000 bond;
* Anthony Ayers, 40, of Evarts, was arrested Tuesday by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Derek Akal on charges of theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception including cold checks under $10,000 and third-degree forgery. Ayers was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on bonds totaling $11,500;
* John Gambrall, 44, of Harlan, was arrested by Loyall Police Chief Mike Lunsford on Monday on a fugitive warrant. Gambrall was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;
* Kista Cooper, 43, of Pennington Gap, Va., was arrested by Lunsford on Monday on a fugitive warrant. Cooper was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;
* Hiram Lamb, 35, of Evarts, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Winston Yeary on charges of theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Lamb was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on full cash bonds totaling $7,000.
