Two teenagers were being treated at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital Monday evening after being freed from the wreckage of their vehicle by the Harlan County Rescue Squad on KY 2007 at Happy Top near Wallins Creek. Trooper Josh Howard said Kylie Griffin, 18, Pathfork, and Haylie Eldridge, 16, Coldiron, were injured in the mishap that occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Howard said Griffin swerved her 2007 Mazada to avoid colliding with a school bus. Her vehicle went over an embankment and overturned. Troopers Brandon Burton and Josh Brashears, Wallins Volunteer Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance Service also assisted Howard at the scene.
