A Baxter man faces multiple charges including burglary following an arrest by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office. Steven Wayne Williams, 31, of Baxter, was arrested on a total of six separate warrants spanning Harlan and Letcher counties on Monday.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Williams was located after Sgt. Jason Snelling received an anonymous tip placing Williams at Lot 8 Sukey Ridge Road. A search of the residence ended with Chief Deputy Winston Yeary Jr. locating Williams hiding inside a large box inside a closet.
Capt. Frank Doan and Det. Danny Ball assisted in the arrest.
Williams was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more, second and third-degree criminal mischief, failure to appear and two counts of probation violation.
Williams was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on two full cash $10,000 bonds.

* Gary Goins Jr., 37, of Lynch, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Lewis on Friday.
According to the arrest warrant, Gary Goins stated Gary Goins Jr. unlawfully and knowingly entered a storage building on April 23. Gary Goins Jr. allegedly took a saw and Weedeater from the building after breaking a lock in order to enter the structure.
Gary Goins Jr. was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $7,000 full cash bond;
* Leslie Stevens, 41, of Cranks, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason Young on Monday on a warrant for being a fugitive from another state. Stevens was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond;
* Cricket Moore, 23, of Middlesboro, was arrested Monday by the office of Probation and Parole for a probation violation. Moore was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond.
