Old fashioned fun at Fair Day

Members of the Harlan County Extension Service judged for first, second and third place ribbons for food preservation baked items, garden vegetables/flowers, quilts and crafts.

Kicking off their centennial celebration, marking 100 years of service in 2013, a featured event of this year’s Fair was demonstrations to celebrate the rich history of folk-dance at PMSS. Peter Rogers, son of the late Burton and Mary Rogers, who were long-time directors at the school, lead the demonstrations.
