Emergency workers prepare a Boone County man injured at the Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Park on Tuesday for transport. Greg Kunkel, of Hebron, suffered an injury to his leg while riding the Black Mountain Thunder Zip line at the Evarts park. Harlan County Outdoor Recreation Board member Dallas Gilbert explained how the incident occurred. “There’s a deck that you come in on on every zip line. You need to pick your feet up a little when you come in. The guy didn’t pick his feet up and bumped the corner of the deck,” said Gilbert. Kunkel was transported from the scene by the Harlan County Rescue Squad and Harlan EMS to the Evarts football field where he was flown to a trauma center.
