An Enterprise Staff Report
The Harlan County cross country teams competed in the North Laurel Invitational last weekend.
Kassie Rouse placed seventh in the girls race to pace the Lady Bears. Brenna Epperson came in 10th. Cassidy Ball, Lacey Stevens and Jennifer Graham finished 13th-15th respectively. Aaryn Jackson came in 21st. Miranda Epperson was 26th.
Sidney Kelly finished fourth in the junior varsity race. Farren Clark was fifth, and Jessica Hall followed in sixth.
Steven Engle’s 20th-place finsh led the Harlan County boys. Donavan Johnson was 21st, and Caleb Bailey followed in 22nd. Josh Wynn came in 27th. Noah Hughes placed 32nd. Caleb Justen placed 42nd. Steve Reed was 47th.
Tim Witt led the Bears with a 10th-place finish in the boys junior varsity race. Nate Miller followed in 11th. Elijah McLendon finished 15th. Joel Thomas was 17th.
Harlan County’s Rebecca Middleton came in sixth in the girls middle school race. Allison Cornett followed in seventh-place.
Trent Mckenzie was fifth in the boys middle school competition. Alex Lewis placed ninth. Kyle Middleton came in 12th. Hunter Smallwood finished 38th.
Harlan County’s Madison Blanton came in second in the girls elementary race. Katie Graham was fifth. Abby Vitatoe came in 10th.
Matthew Brown paced the Bears with a third-place finish in the boys elementary run. Drake Ward finished fifth.
