Ola Mae Maggard Hatmaker, 92 of Kitts passed into Eternal rest at her home on Sunday Jan. 20, 2013 following a long illness.

Ola Mae was born on May 22, 1920 in Leslie Co., KY to the late Henry and Matilda Turner Maggard. She was a woman of faith who believed in the risen Savior. She was the wife of a coal miner and homemaker for her family. She took pride in keeping a neat and tidy home for her family and was a wonderful cook who always had her next meal or treat to bake planned. Her family took pleasure in the fact that there was always delicious food on the table or in the stove for them to enjoy. She was a loving wife to her husband, Charlie for nearly 70 years and raised 3 precious sons who were her pride and joy. Her most treasured blessings were her grandchildren. She loved when her “babies” came to visit.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hatmaker; brothers, Bradley, Jim, Johnny, Dillard, and McCoy; her sisters, Minnie, Delphia, Polly, Bessie, Zelphie, and Carrie.

She leaves to cherish her memories her 3 sons, Jerry (Bonnie) Hatmaker of Kitts, Jim (Maxine) Hatmaker of Lexington, and Ed (Charlotte) Hatmaker of Molus; 9 grandchildren, Tracey (Beverly) Hatmaker, Mark (Courtney) Hatmaker, Jimmy (Buffy) Hatmaker, Steve Hatmaker, Barb (Trey)Griffith, Mike (Vicki) Allison, Jon (Shelley) Allison, Michelle Howard and Angie (Scott) Daniels. Her 14 great grandchildren, Andrew, Destiny, and Aiden Hatmaker, Stephen, Ethan, and Logan Hatmaker, Zach, Micah, Wyatt, and Liam Allison, Mariah, and Marissa Howard, Macie, and Lukas Daniels. 1 great-great grandchild, Brenten Edward Gross; She leaves many friends and other family members including a special friend, Jean Allison who will mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Wednesday Jan. 23, 2013 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones with Rev. Ray Stepp and Rev. David Gross officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith with Grandsons serving as Pallbearers.

The family wants to give a special thanks to caregivers, Jerry and Bonnie Hatmaker for their love and faithful care, also to the Hospice Staff, Wanda, Sherry, Candace, and Shawn for all of their kindness and support. Thanks to Darlene Hamlin, Sandy Hansel of Pathfinders for their help.
