Lynch Community and Civic Leader Lula Doris Sundy died of respiratory cardiac complications Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Harlan ARH hospital. Mrs. Sundy was 95. She was born to Lee Parson and Annie Louise Scott in Mobile, Alabama. She was the wife of Glennwood Sundy deceased.

She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Stars Pilgrim Rest Chapter #95 Lynch Chapter for over sixty five years. She served as Matron two terms and served at the state level as Grand Matron Cecelia Dunlap Grand Chapter P.H.A. Jurisdiction of KY. She was proud to be a member of the Daughter of Elks Rising Sun Temple #808 Lynch Chapter where she served as Daughter Ruler. She served at the state level as Kentucky State President of Grand Daughter Rulers for eight years. Lula Sundy was a faithful member of the Goode Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, Lynch KY where she served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, and church trustee. Lula worked as a medical assistant on fifth floor at Harlan ARH because of her love for children.

She is survived by son Terry Sundy (Adrienne); grandsons Terry (Tee) Sundy Jr. (Hanna), Trevor Sundy (Becky), Lance Spencer; granddaughter Tierra Sundy; great grandchildren Teran , Tyrus Sundy and Tressany and special friend and daughter-in-law Carolyn Sundy and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, December 31, at 11 a.m. at the Goode Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Lynch, KY with funeral services following at 12 noon with Rev. Sandra Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
