Local schools will be well represented at the 13th Region All-Star games on Saturday, as nine players were selected from Harlan and Harlan County High Schools.
Harlan County will send four players to the senior contest, led by 13th Region Player of the Year Tyler Brewer. Brewer, who put up 12.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game will be on the white team, along with four other Black Bears. Senior Shooting guard Alex Sergent will also play for the white team after posting 11.8 points, four rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a senior. Fellow guard Chad Massingill will also represent the Bears. Massingill recorded 10.1 points and four rebounds per contest last season. Senior forward Aaron Caldwell rounds out the Harlan County contingent. Caldwell finished with 10 points and 6.5 rebounds per game his senior year.
Harlan senior Nathan Young will join the black bears o the white team. Young had nine points. four rebounds and one assist per game for the Green Dragons last season.
Harlan placed three players on the underclassmen all-star team. Sophomore Isaiah Johnson was named to the game after posting nine points and five rebounds per game last season. Johnson will be joined on the white team by freshman teammates Drew Parks and Caleb Hogue. Parks averaged seven points per game last season, while Hogue contributed five points.
Harlan County sophomore Tyler Miller will join the Green Dragons on the white team. Miller had 10 points and seven rebounds per game last season.
The underclassmen game will begin at 2 p.m. at Knox Central, with the senior game following at 3:30 p.m.
