Harlan City Police officer Derrick Noe is investigating an armed robbery at V & J Pawn Shop located on Main Street.
Noe said the store clerk reported that a white male came into the business, brandished a gun and demanded money.
“The clerk said the perpetrator fled the store with money and was walking south on Main Street,” Noe said. “We talked to several people that were near the store when we got there, but they said they didn’t see anything.”
Noe said they are currently pulling photos from criminal record files to try and match the description given by the store clerk.
He is described as being slender with dark hair, a tear drop tattoo under his left eye and wearing a blue jacket.
Kentucky State Police troopers were called to assist when the robbery occurred just after 3 p.m. Saturday.
