A wreck Tuesday morning claimed the life of a Harlan County man and injured a second. Bobby Daniels Sr., 65, of Pathfork, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on Fonde Mountain. He was the passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Glen Helton Jr., 47, of Pathfork, was airlifted to UT Medical.

According to Bell County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Stewart, the two men were on their way to work. In a conversation with police, Helton said it was 5 a.m. the last time he looked at the clock before the crash. Stewart stated the sheriff’s office did not receive a call on the wreck until 7:30 a.m.

The cause of the wreck remains undetermined.

Stewart is in charge of the wreck investigation.

Other agencies who responded to the wreck included Kentucky State Police Trooper Keith Baker, Bell County EMS, Frakes Volunteer Fire Department and Bell County Rescue Squad.
