The following civil lawsuits were filed recently in the office of Harlan Circuit Court Clerk Paul F. Williams.

Sonya Kay Wilkinson Goley vs. Henry Edward Goley Jr. - dissolution of marriage.

Katherine R. Sundy vs. Terry Sundy Sr. - dissolution of marriage.

Mary W. Akal vs. Patricia A. Wilson - medical insurance.

Tiffany M. Carver vs. Anthony A. Buice - medical insurance.

David B. Surber vs. Maria P. Munoz - medical insurance.

District court cases

The following cases have been heard in Harlan District Court, Judge Jeff Brock presiding.

Barbara Napier, 34, operating vehicle on a suspended/revoked operator's license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (second offense), failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, rear license plate not illuminated, three counts of failure to wear seat belt, careless driving - failed to appear for hearing.

Phillip A. Middleton, 34, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, improper registration plate, failure to register the transfer of a motor vehicle, speeding (10 miles per hour over limit), failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to produce insurance card - failed to appear for hearing.

Mary Huff, 31, speeding (14 miles per hour over limit), operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license - continued for arraignment.

Christina K. Burton, 34, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - failed to appear for hearing.

Barbara Napier, 34, no operator's/moped license, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle - failed to appear for hearing.

Ricky J. Smith, 28, speeding (25 miles per hour over limit), improper equipment, license to be in possession, failure to produce insurance card - continued for arraignment.

Mark A. Westfelt, 22, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator's license - continued for arraignment March 10.

Fred Arnett Jr., 32, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, failure to produce insurance card - first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $25; other charges dismissed.

Cathy S. Napier, 37, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to produce insurance card - continued for arraignment.

Wilma B. Callahan, 46, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - dismissed on proof.

Judy S. Fox, 57, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - pleaded guilty, fined $500.

Kendra Latham, 20, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - jury trial set June 17.

April Penny, 25, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), license to be in possession - dismissed on proof.

Denver R. Simpson, 31, one headlight, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance (first offense), failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, careless driving - first two charges, pleaded guilty, fined $425; other charges dismissed.

Michael Clem, 16, instructional permit violations, failure to wear seat belt, failure to give or improper signal - continued for arraignment July 28.

John H. Luttrell, 18, second-degree terroristic threatening - preliminary hearing scheduled Feb. 18.

Alonzo E. Turner, 64, trafficking a controlled substance/drug unspecified (first offense), use/possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense) - preliminary hearing scheduled March 3.

Benjamin M. Middleton, 28, fourth-degree assault/ domestic violence (no visible injury), alcohol intoxication in a public place, first-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot) - preliminary hearing scheduled Feb. 25.

Rocky A. Middleton, 26, third-degree terroristic threatening - preliminary hearing scheduled March 24.

Elmer D. Hurt, 37, fourth-degree assault/ domestic violence (minor injury) - sentenced to 30 days in jail (probated for 24 months).

Paul Carroll, 72, fourth-degree assault/domestic violence (no visible injury) - preliminary hearing scheduled March 24.

Arthur Neal, 38, alcohol intoxication in a public place (third offense) - pleaded guilty, fined $25.

James W. Perry, 20, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs (under 21 years of age), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - continued for arraignment March 10.

Timothy M. McCoun, 42, theft of property lost/mislaid/delivered by mistaken identity (under $300) - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set June 10.

Paul Buell, 24, expired or no registration plate, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - first two charges, pleaded guilty, fined $425; other charges dismissed.

Juanita Maggard, one headlight, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operators license - continued for arraignment Feb. 25.

Hazel L. Colinger, 41, rear license not illuminated, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - continued for arraignment.

Kimberly Coots, 23, speeding (15 miles per hour over limit), failure to wear seat belts, careless driving, license to be in possession - pleaded not guilty, jury trial set July 1.

William D. Farley, 37, speeding (10 miles per hour over limit), improper passing, license to be in possession - first charge, amended to defective equipment, fined $25; other charges dismissed.

William Dillman, 20, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt - dismissed on proof and warning.

John Hobbs, 57, speeding (16 miles per hour over limit), failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt - first two charges, continued for arraignment Feb. 25; other charge dismissed.

Kimberly Perkins, 34, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card, license to be in possession - continued for arraignment.

Brian Harris, 19, theft by failure to make required disposition of property (over $300) - preliminary hearing scheduled Feb. 25.

Melinda R. Massingale, 22, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), failure to wear seat belt, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, possession of a controlled substance (first offense), possession of a controlled substance (second offense or more), third-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense), operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operators license - continued for arraignment.

Joshua Blanton, 25, fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), third-degree terroristic threatening - pretrial conference scheduled June 16.

Michael Bennett, 21, alcohol intoxication in a public place (first offense), second-degree fleeing or evading police officer (on foot), resisting arrest - continued for arraignment.

Lori Stephens, 30, third-degree terroristic threatening - pleaded guilty, fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail (probated for 12 months).

Tyler Buell, 22, first-degree criminal trespassing - continued for arraignment.

Barbara Napier, 34, four counts of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor - continued for arraignment.

Tommy J. Swanner, 30, alcohol intoxication in a public place (first offense) - continued for arraignment.

Kendra M. Latham, 20, second-degree disorderly conduct - jury trial set June 17.

Tonya Burgan, 31, second-degree disorderly conduct - pleaded guilty, fined $50.

Bobbi Tolliver, 50, no tail lights, no operator's/moped license, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense) - continued for arraignment.

Sasha N. Sergent, 18, failure to give right of way to emergency vehicle, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, no operator's/moped license, instructional permit violations - continued for arraignment March 24.

Brendan M. Tarring, 20, no operator's/moped license, failure to wear seat belt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), three counts of failure to wear seat belt - first two charges; continued for arraignment March 10; other charges dismissed.

James B. Thomas, 29, four counts of violating federal safety regulations - continued for arraignment Feb. 25.

David D. Caldwell, 49, expired or no registration plate, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security (first offense), expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, two counts of no exterior identification/improper display, no Kentucky motor fuel users license, commercial driver not licensed, violating federal safety regulations - dismissed on proof.

Rebecca L. Salamon, 25, instructional permit violations, rear license plate not illuminated - continued for arraignment March 17.
