Barbara Puryear-Mascari, 42, of Harlan, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was a native of Fredricksburg, Virginia and had lived in Harlan since 1978. Barbara was a secretary for Northstar Transport Company as well as a homemaker. She was baptized at an early age and believed in the Baptist faith.

Barbara was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed dancing and cooking, and was an avid reader, having read hundreds of books since her childhood.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Lana Jones Puryear.

Survivors include her father, Charles E. Puryear, of Harlan; her husband, Frank James Mascari, of Harlan; four daughters, Summer Miracle, of London; Rebecca Puryear, Jordan Mascari and Destiny Perkins, all of Harlan; a sister, Sandra Kirk and husband Bryan, of Harlan; and a granddaughter, Rhiley A. Banks. Also surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Harlan Funeral Home with Rev. Danny McCreary and Rev. Jerry Collins officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11 am until 2 pm Saturday at Harlan Funeral Home.
