The very spirit of Christ

By Pete Rowe - Contributing Writer

We are seeking answers from God’s word concerning the “Holy Ghost,” and the word of God has already informed us through Peter, (1 Peter 1:11, 2 Peter 1:21) that the “Holy Ghost” is the “very Spirit of Christ” that was “within the prophets” foretelling beforehand the suffering of Jesus.

Please bear in mind it is very important that one realizes that “Christ himself” is the “only person” the Holy Ghost dwells in. Jesus preached “I am in my Father, and my Father is in me. I and my Father are one!”

This news can be very surprising to the world because for the most part professing Christians are being taught that Jesus is the “second person” of the “Trinity, God in three persons.” And simultaneously, they are being taught that the Holy Ghost is the “third person,” a totally different person from Jesus. And, the “Faith of the Trinity” declares positively that Jesus and the Holy Ghost are entirely different persons than “the Father,” which is portrayed as the “first person” of the Trinity.

God’s word is plain and simple: Jesus Christ is the only person in the “True Godhead.” We have heard Paul in Colossians 2:8: “Beware, lest any Man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit: After the traditions of Men and the rudiments of the world and ‘“not after Christ.” For “in him” (Christ) dwells all of the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and “ye are complete in him” which is the “head of all principality and power.”

These words are just too plain to ignore: Why can we not believe Jesus when he said in Matthew 28:18, “All Power is given unto me in heaven and in earth?” Most people will respond, “I was never told that.” Please realize that “all Power in heaven and in earth” is the “Holy Ghost of Jesus.”

When Jesus died in his flesh, he gave up his Holy Ghost, “so he could die.” He lay in his tomb, having no power, nor any knowledge at all, “The dead knows nothing!” Ecclesiastes 9:5: “For the Living know they shall die: But the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.”

When Jesus rose from the dead, that same “Holy Ghost, all power in heaven and in earth,” was given back to him. The “Holy Ghost Light” that Jesus dwells in is too powerful for any Man to approach unto. 1 Timothy 6:16, the Everlasting Father became the Son of God to dim his great glory. Therefore, as Jesus promised. “In that day (Day of Salvation) ye shall know that “I am in my Father and my Father is in me” and “I in you.” As Paul said, “Ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwells within you. Now if any Man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” John 14:20.
