My sister, Helen McAnally Minor, and myself, both whom have Parkinson’s disease, will represent the state of Kentucky by attending the Parkinson Action Network 2016 Forum on Feb. 27. The PAN Forum is an annual, three-day conference held in Washington, D.C., bringing together Parkinson’s advocates from across the nation.
Attendees gather to learn the latest in public policy and research in Parkinson’s disease and other neurological diseases. We will work together with other advocates to increase the awareness of Parkinson’s and learn to advocate for better treatments and a cure. We will also get to meet with approximately eight congressmen and representatives from the state of Kentucky.
When Helen and I return from Washington, D.C., we will be equipped with information that we would love to share with schools, universities, hospitals, doctors, nurses and the community. If there is a school, organization, hospital, etc. that would like for us to speak at their next event, please contact us by email at [email protected] to discuss the event.
This will be my third year attending this very informative, life changing event. I am in hopes in the future there will be more advocates from the State of Kentucky in attendance.
