Harlan County Pee-Wee football registration set


Registration for the Harlan County Pee-Wee football and cheerleading league will be held July 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Huff Park in Harlan.


The football league is open to all students in third- and fourth-grade, including Harlan County Schools, Harlan Independent Schools and the Harlan County Christian School.


Cheerleading is open to students in grades kindergarten through fourth-grade.


There is a $35 registration fee.


Those participating in football must have a current sports physical.


Students who participated in the league last year must sign up again this year.

New Harlan football practice opens


Practice for the seventh- and eighth-grade New Harlan football team began on Monday at 5 p.m. and will last approximately two hours.


Transportation will be provided to practice and back to the schools.

Harlan football practice will open on July 21


All Harlan Middle School students in grades 5-8 interested in playing football should report to the Harlan football field on July 21 at 5 p.m. with a physical. Practice will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Evarts football practice opens


Football practice for the Evarts Wildcats began on Monday for grades 5-8.


The fifth- and sixth-grade team will practice from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The seventh- and eighth-grade team will practice from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.


A bus will take players home from the morning practice on the first day, so players will need to get their own transportation the first day. After that, the bus will pick students up and take them home. Coaches say that if you did not sign up you before school was out you can still play. Show up at your assigned practice time and bring your physicals with you.
