Four touchdown runs by Dalton Cook were too much for the Cumberland Redskins to overcome as the visiting Lynn Camp Wildcats pulled away for a 44-12 victory in seventh- and eighth-grade football action Thursday
Cook’s first TD gave Lynn Camp an early lead before Cumberland’s Xavier Simmons answered with a 15-yard run that cut the deficit to 8-6.
Cook’s second touchdown made it 16-6, but a 66-yard kickoff return by Simmons pulled the Skins within four.
Cook’s 45-yard kickoff return gave Lynn Camp a 22-12 halftime lead.
Another touchdown scamper by Cook and a 60-yard TD run by Tracy Fee stretched the Lynn Camp lead to 36-12. Domanick Cook scored with 3:40 left in the game and Michael Floyd went in for the two-point conversion.
Cumberland fell 38-28 to Middlesboro in previously unreported action from Tuesday.
Simmons scored three touchdowns to lead the Redskins. Tyler Casolari added one. Justin Brown and Casolari each had two-point conversion runs. There was no fifth- and sixth-grade game.
