Six days after scoring three runs in the seventh inning for a walkoff win over Corbin, the Harlan County Black Bears watched as the Redhounds turned the tables on them Thursday with a 1-0 eight-inning victory at Corbin.

Austin Combs pitched a two-hitter to earn the victory, pitching the entire eight innings. Combs struck out two and walked only one.

Jace Woodruff scored the winning run in the eighth inning, leading off with a single, then stealing second and third base before scoring on a two-out error.

Harlan County ace Connor Leisge pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. Tyler Cornett suffered the loss as he allowed a run on one hit in 2/3 of an inning.

The top six hitters in the HCHS lineup were a combined zero for 16. Chance Brown and Cole Wilson, who split time in left field, had the only hits for the Bears as they shared the seventh spot in the order.

Taylor Combs, Peyton Buford, Austin Combs, Kevin Goins and Woodruff each had one single for the Redhounds.

Harlan County (3-5) plays host to Leslie County on Friday as part of the Black Bears Classic.
