The Harlan Green Dragons split a pair of games in the Bowman Memorial Classic at Lynn Camp on Saturday. Harlan defeated Pineville 58-52 before falling to Bell County 59-52.


The Green Dragons outscored Pineville 29-19 in the first half and held on in the second to earn a win in Saturday’s first contest.


Aaron Simpson poured in 21 points to lead the way.


John Robbins recorded 18 points to pace the Mountain Lions.


Harlan fell behind early against the Bobcats. Bell County outscored the Green Dragons 25-17 in the opening period. HHS reduced the deficit to just two at the half, but Bell regained control in the third quarter and took an eighth-point lead into the final period.


Simpson paced the Dragons with 14 points. Noah Busroe added 11 points.


Jake Patterson had 17 points to lead Bell County, while Tyler Potter added 16 points.


Harlan (3-2) returns to action today at June Buchanan. Bell County (4-2) will host Williamsburg.
