Harlan County avenged a loss at Jenkins with a straight-set victory over the Lady Cavs on Wednesday. The Lady Bears defeated Jenkins 25-18 25-14 to improve to 10-6 on the season.
Katelyn Reynolds delivered two tips, one dig, four kills, one spike, two aces and eight points to power Harlan County to a win in the opening set. Chyanna Harris had three spikes, two points, two kills and one dig. Lauren Lee recorded three tips, one dig, one kill and one point. Whitney Stevens delivered two kills and two points. Charleigh Mefford had two digs, one ace and one point, while Brittany Clem added one block, one spike and one point.
Reynolds added three tips, three kills, one spike and five points to pace Harlan County again in the second game. Harris had one tip, one dig, two kills, one spike, one ace and three points. Stevens contributed one dig, one kill, one spike, two aces and four points. Lee recorded five tips, two blocks, one ace and two points, while Clem added one ace and two points.
Harlan County fell 21-23, 17-21 in the junior varsity contest.Sasha Smipson had five tips, one block, one dig, one kill and two points to lead Harlan County in the first set. Sabrina Simpson recorded three tips, one dig, two aces and two point in the second game.
The Lady Bears dropped the freshman contest 21-19 19-21, 20-22.
Natale Middleton tallied three kills, two aces and five points in the first freshman game. Elyse Turner had four tips, one dig, one ace and three points to pace Harlan County in the second contest. Middleton led the Lady Bears with one tip, one block, three kills, four spikes and four points in the third set.
Harlan County returns to action Monday at Knox Central. Jenkins (4-8)
